Due to changes in the drivers for the Mali GPUs in Mediatek SoCs like MT8183, the recent update to Mesa 25 causes graphical display issues on Mediatek SoCs
If you should be greeted by a graphical login manager with a distorted screen after the update to Mesa 25, you can add PAN_MESA_DEBUG=noafb to the environment. This should restore the graphics.
