The postmarketos-mvcfg package has been removed

Years ago we wrongly packaged configuration files using post-install scripts that simply wrote the file to /etc. This resulted in apk not being aware that it was managing these files and thought that they had been modified by users, resulting in it not migrating them on upgrade. To remedy this the postmarketos-mvcfg package was created as a means of migrating this legacy configuration packaging method to the proper one.

It has now been over five years since this migration initially took place and we as such consider users to have had enough time to upgrade their installations to migrate them. For this reason we have removed the postmarketos-mvcfg package and all references to it since it at this point its existence mostly causes confusion.

If you somehow have an over five year old postmarketOS installation that hasn't been upgraded since then, this will mean that you manually will have to migrate these old configuration files, particularly:

We don't expect many (if any) users to have to do this. Again, if your installation is less than five years old or you have upgraded your system in the last five years, this is has automatically been solved on your system and there is nothing you need to do.
